Tristan Pfaff – “Live in Auvers”

Born in 1985, Tristan Pfaff began his studies at theNational Conservatory of the Nantes Region before joining the class of Denis Pascal at the CNR of Rueil-Malmaison.
In 2000 he was unanimously admitted to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where he won the 2003 prize in piano with honors unanimously and the Diploma of Higher Education in piano and chamber music with distinction fine.
He then advanced course in the class of Michel Béroff.
It occurs on the most prestigious stages: at the Cité de la Musique, the Invalides, the Louvre, Salle Cortot and at the Petit Palais in Paris, aux Folles Journées de Nantes, at the Annecy Summer Festival, La Roque d’Anthéron, Auvers-sur-Oise Festival with the Orchestre de Bretagne, the Lisztomanias, “soloists greenhouses d’Auteuil”, Pablo Casals Festival in Prades, Nohant, the Opera de Massy, Chopin Festival in the Orangery Bagatelle, the Musical Golf, Festival of Menton, Liszt en Provence festival, Festival Polignac, Tarmac Chateauroux, festival “summer musical Horrues” in Belgium, the Athénée Palace and the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Auditorium of Radio Algiers, and performs chamber music with artists such as Lawrence Korcia, Florin Niculescu, Svetlin Roussev, Parisii the quartet, the quartet Benhaïm Clement Dufour, Romain Leleu …
He has also performed on radio France Musique, and on France 2 television, when issuing “Highly Sunday”, presented by Michel Drucker, France 3 and France 5 (“A summer with Chopin”).
Tristan Pfaff has won numerous international competitions: Concours International de Ferrol in 2008, Scottish International Piano Competition in Glasgow and Long-Thibaud Competition in 2007, Porto contest in 2005, Vianna da Motta Competition in 2004, Arcachon Piano Competition in 2003, Krainev contest in 2002.
Winner of the Foundation Banque Populaire in 2004, and named Revelation Classic Adami in 2006, he was selected by Cultures to integrate the program “Spark” (live in Jordan, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam).
His first recording (“live” in Auvers-sur-Oise) was released in 2010 in DiscAuvers.
Tristan Pfaff dazzling
The day of August 9th had started well with, at 4 p.m. the recital by the young Tristan Pfaff in the intimate setting of Theatre Forbin. While Opus 118 by Brahms left visible a mature and thoughtful interpretation, the rare piano version of Bartok’s Dance Suite showed a performer with an impressive range of sounds. The recital ended in stunning digital pieces of high virtuosity as Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens and Liszt reviewed by Horowitz (just imagine!). Far from any intellectual masturbation, Tristan Pfaff gave in to his heart with a passion that was reminiscent of Horowitz himself.
