THE VAL D’OISE DETENTION CENTER AND THE CLASSICAL MUSIC

The Festival has been working since 2008 with the MAVO (Maison d’Arrêt du Val d’Oise) in partnership with the ADP group and the DRAC Ile-de-France Culture Justice.

Thus, the Maison d’Arrêt du Val d’Oise, by opening its doors to the Auvers-sur-Oise Festival, has embarked on an essential development so that social ties are created, made and strengthened by such as to give the often disadvantaged populations concerned the means, like sport or intellectual practices, to regain absent or destroyed balances in order to promote harmonious life projects.

Since 2008, the Festival has organized several concerts and above all set up several writing and music workshops under the direction of various composers in collaboration with the Théâtre 95 and the Scène Nationale de Cergy-Pontoise and Val d’Oise, including Thierry Escaich, Raymond Alessandrini, Jean-Charles Gandrille, Bruno Desmoullières and the painter David Daoud.

Since July 2021 and for 2 years, pianist Anthony Burlot has been giving lessons at the Maison d’Arrêt for 3 hours a week.
