LUNCHTIME AT THE CASTLE – ZIRIAB DUO

Ziriab is the union of two ancestral instruments, the flute and the guitar, intertwined in a dialogue where Mediterranean sounds meet modern and contemporary playing techniques. Discovered by Mathias Duplessy (Les Violons du Monde), who dedicated his latest composition to them, the duo has had the opportunity to perform in concerts and masterclasses throughout Europe, notably in France and Spain. The duo also presented their album Irisation on France Musique and was invited to perform at the International Flute Convention. Eager to break with the traditional flute and guitar duo often heard in more classical repertoire, Ziriab seeks to give this highly collaborative ensemble a new image, where flute and guitar become one.
