Founded in 2019 by Thomas Briant, Eliott Leridon, and Théotime Gillot, the Zarathoustra Trio takes its name from the mythical figure who inspired one of Nietzsche’s major works. Graduates of the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris) in 2021, where they studied with Claire Désert, the Zarathoustra Trio won first prize at the 2022 FNAPEC International Chamber Music Competition, and the following year, second prize at the Orpheus Competition in Lucerne. After hearing them perform at a Pianissimes concert in the Salle Cortot, the Auvers-sur-Oise Festival and its Foundation decided to support them with a three-year project including a residency, recording, and concerts. ©Christopher Salgadinho
