Trio Zarathoustra

Founded in 2019 by Thomas Briant, Eliott Leridon and Théotime Gillot, the Trio Zarathoustra takes its name from the mythical figure who inspired one of Nietzsche’s major works. Trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, they earned their Bachelor’s degree in chamber music in 2021 in Claire Désert’s class. They are currently pursuing advanced studies with Louis Rodde at the CNSM, as well as with the Trio Wanderer at the CRR de Paris Ida Rubinstein. The trio has also benefited from the guidance of masters such as Olivier Charlier, Lise Berthaud and Emmanuel Strosser.

Their talent was quickly recognised with First Prize at the FNAPEC International Chamber Music Competition, opening the doors to many prestigious events: the Festival de La Roque d’Anthéron, the Musicales de Gadagne, Les Pianissimes, and Gautier Capuçon’s “Un été en France” tour. They have also been guests on the France Musique programme “Générations France Musique, le live”.

Deeply moved by their concert at Les Pianissimes in the Salle Cortot, Pascal Escande, founding director of the Festival d’Auvers-sur-Oise, immediately offered to support them in developing their careers. The Fondation Festival d’Auvers-sur-Oise thus launched an exceptional three-year project, including a residency in Auvers-sur-Oise (Maison Rose de Wallerand, December 2024), a recording (Auditorium de l’Antarès, Vauréal, July 2025) and a commission from the composer Elise Bertrand. Their first album on the DiscAuverS label, Mahler, Shostakovich, Bertrand, was launched on Thursday 12 March 2026 at 8.30 pm at the Salle Cortot in Paris. The residency continues in 2027, with the Trio Zarathoustra taking part in Opus 46 in “La nuit Ludwig van B”.
