Ewa Mazur-Devaux — Theme of the Auvers-sur-Oise cultural season: “Living with nature”.
Vast horizons are the hallmark of Ewa Mazur-Devaux’s work. Rolling plains and river valleys are her favourite subjects. These landscapes are crossed by open skies in intense colours that stir the viewer’s psyche. The artist is clearly intent on creating an ideal image in her landscapes, built with pared-down lines. Shifts of light are the striking features that give each landscape its singular expression: snapshots of natural moods that overlap in quick succession and that the artist condenses into a complex whole.
