A DiscAuverS 1991 recording having been a great success from the outset, the Festival decided to revive this Rossini work with a new team of brilliant young soloists and a charismatic chorus under the inspired direction of conductor Pierre-Louis de Laporte. The Solemn Little Mass continues to captivate audiences with its skillful blend of humor and emotion, and as the Master of Pesaro wrote: “God, this little Mass is now over. Is this sacred music or just damn good music ?”
